        • ARCP Overview Released 16 February 2018
        • Core procedures April 2018 Released 15 May 2018
        • TAB Late 2018 (Note that the TAB overview is already available - this gives most of the required information)
        • Csv download of on-screen reports Late 2018
      • Notices Late 2018
        • Administrators will be able to post notices for users in their location(s).
          • Notices can be targeted at specific groups (e.g. F1/F2, trainers, FPDs, administrators)
        • Until this feature is available, administrators can use the "Placements overview / download" page to download a list of all foundation doctors in their area with the email address they are registered on Horus with. This can be used as the basis for an email distribution list.
        • Horus-registered email addresses for all other types of users can be copied in batches of 50 from the "Users" admin list (this list can also be filtered by location and type of user)
      • Allow non-trainee grade (NTG) doctors to also be "trainers" in Horus March 2018 Released 1 March 2018
        • Until March 2018, NTGs could use most of the same portfolio tools as foundation doctors, but they couldn't be listed as a "trainer", which meant they couldn't sign SLEs
        • Until March 2018, a local decision needed to be made as to whether an NTG doctor should be a trainer or an NTG on Horus

We will be implementing the remaining required features via a number of releases and will be keeping the Horus Updates section and HEE local foundation teams updated with our developments.

Features for foundation doctors and supervisors (administrators will be able to view these too) we are working on making available during October and November 2017 (in the order we're working on them) and an explanation of mitigating factors

      • Training version of Horus end of September Released 4 October 2017
        • Up to date training version of Horus, to be used by administrators to set up information to support local training sessions
        • An older training version of Horus remains available to users while we finalise the up to date version.
      • Team assessment of behaviour (TAB) early October Released 9 October 2017
        • The majority of foundation doctors are not expected to begin a TAB until they have spent some time in their new placement. Therefore, although inconvenient to not be able to see the whole picture, the unavailability of this feature should not adversely affect most users.
        • Blank versions of the forms are available for information
      • Placement supervision group (PSG) feedback collection October Released 13 October 2017
        • Clinical supervisors (CSs) are expected to gather feedback from the PSG to support their assessment of their supervised foundation doctors in the CS's end of placement report. This report is not expected to be completed for the majority of foundation doctors until the end of the first placement, in late November or early December 2017. Therefore, although inconvenient to not be able to see the whole picture, the unavailability of this feature should not adversely affect most users.
        • Blank versions of the forms are available for information
      • ARCP January 2018 Released 22 February 2018
        • Any foundation doctors requiring an ARCP within the first four months of the 2017-18 training are able to have this completed for them using either the NES ePortfolio or the North West (2016-17) version of Horus (as appropriate).
        • Requirements for satisfactory completion of F1/F2 are available in the FP Reference Guide 2016 and on the Blank Forms page
      • Portfolio "Overview" summaries October / November Released 1 November 2017
        • "Overview" page already shows contact and placement details and list of signed declarations
        • Summaries of the number of forms completed by the foundation doctor and number of items mapped to the curriculum will be added in due course.
      • Mandatory certificates January 2018 Released 16 March 2018
        • This section is to be used to upload evidence of passing the PSA, ILS and ALS.
        • PSA passes have already been shared with foundation schools/employers through different means (and further results from the most recent sitting will be handled in this same way), so no one should be held up by this feature not yet being available.
        • Many foundation doctors don’t complete ILS/ALS until later on in the training year (some medical students complete ILS and some F1s complete ALS, but evidencing this is not required for the foundation programme until later on in the training year).
      • E-LfH direct link to Horus TBC Released 3 April 2018
        • All foundation doctors should already have access to e-LfH and can start completing courses as required; this is independent of Horus.
        • Linking e-LfH and Horus accounts will allow foundation doctors to use e-LfH courses they’ve completed as part of their evidence base to show achievement of their FPCs.
        • Once this feature is available in Horus, all e-LfH courses already completed by foundation doctors will be available through their Horus portfolio.
      • Curriculum: educational supervisor's assessment Released 19 April 2018
        • Educational supervisors are required to rate each of the 4 sections of the curriculum as either satisfactory, partially met or not yet met requirements in advance of ARCP.
        • This feature is not required until mid-2018.

      • Reports October / November Released 1 November 2017
        • There will be reports showing the number of various forms (split into categories) completed by each foundation doctor
          • There are currently two 'placeholder' reports showing in Horus - these both show sample data to show you what the reports will look like.
        • Until these reports are made available, the only way to monitor completion of forms is by accessing each foundation doctor's "Portfolio Contents" page within their portfolio.
      • Overviews October / November All released by May 2018
        • There will overview pages showing showing reports of and allowing management of numbers/types of mandatory certificates uploaded, TAB progress and ARCP
        • There are no mitigating factors for this feature while it is not available (note that none of these types of content can be created yet, so the reports would be empty at this stage)
      • Notices Late 2018
        • Administrators will be able to post notices for users in their location(s).
          • Notices can be targeted at specific groups (e.g. F1/F2, trainers, FPDs, administrators)

      • Foundation doctor photos Released 4 December 2017
        • Administrators will be able to upload photos of foundation doctors, which will appear in their portfolio
        • There are no mitigating factors for this feature while it is not available

We will be implementing the remaining required features via a number of releases and will be keeping the Horus Updates section and HEE local foundation teams updated with our developments.

  • August 2017
    • Features we have focussed on making available before the start of the training year to mitigate the impact of ongoing development on users

      • Administrators have had access to Horus since early June 2017, allowing them to audit centrally imported user accounts and placements, add any additional information and assign supervisors to their foundation doctors. The are able to use the following features:

Features for foundation doctors and supervisors we are working on making available during August and September 2017 and an explanation of mitigating factors

      • SLEs and Core Procedures Update: Released 18 August 2017
        • The forms have all been built and tested – we are now finalising the functionality around requesting and giving feedback and signing of these forms. We want to make sure that we build this functionality in both a user friendly way and a way that maintains the integrity of the Horus database and this takes a little bit more time.
        • We have audited the creation of SLE forms during 2016-17 in the NES ePortfolio and found that only approximately 1% of all the SLEs created throughout the training year were completed during the first 3 weeks of August. Therefore we feel confident that the majority of users won’t be adversely affected by the delay in making this feature available.
        • Guidance on SLEs can be found in the curriculum and the UKFPO’s e-portfolio web page.
        • Blank versions of the forms are available for information
      • The curriculum Now live
        • This information is accessible via the UKFPO’s website (the “Syllabus”).
        • This exact same information will be available in Horus during the upcoming month (exact date TBC), but meanwhile it can all be viewed at the above link, without access to the e-portfolio required. Update: 24 August 2017 - The curriculum headings and descriptors are now available.
        • The option to map portfolio evidence to the 20 foundation professional capabilities (FPCs) will be available in due course. Update: 18 September 2017 - Curriculum mapping is now available.
      • E-LfH Update: 24 August 2017 - e-LfH courses relevant to each FPC can be found in each FD's Portfolio 'Curriculum' page and are also listed here.
Released 3 April 2018
        • Once this feature is available in Horus, all e-LfH courses already completed by foundation doctors will be available through their Horus portfolio.
      • Mandatory certificates Released 16 March 2018
        • This section is to be used to upload evidence of passing the PSA, ILS and ALS.
        • PSA passes have already been shared with foundation schools/employers through different means (and further results from the most recent sitting will be handled in this same way), so no one should be held up by this feature not yet being available.
